Project Gotham Making A Comeback?

by Matthew Kato on Nov 01, 2010 at 10:04 AM

When Microsoft and Bizarre Creations ended their partnership a few years ago, gamers mourned the loss of arcade racer Project Gotham Racing, but a new report says that Microsoft is looking to bring the series back.

Develop Online is reporting that it has a source who says that Microsoft is currently in talks with different European independent studios to handle the franchise, but it hasn't decided which one is going to take the reins. The story makes a good point in ruling out Forza studio Turn10 for the Project Gotham series since it's an in-house developer.

Microsoft kept the property when it let Bizarre Creations go after their deal was up in 2007. Subsequently, the studio was bought by Activision.

A revival of the Project Gotham franchise would be a good move by Microsoft, especially since 360 fans love the more simulation-based Forza series already.
