Lionhead's Milo Canceled Again?

by Matthew Kato on Sep 23, 2010 at 04:13 AM

There have been lots of stories this year regarding the whereabouts of Lionhead's Kinect project Milo, and the lastest rumor once again says that the project has been canceled.

A report from Eurogamer states that work on the Kinect title has been stopped, and 19 "contractors" related to Milo were let go, according to a close source. Neither Microsoft nor Lionhead have offered a substantive comment on the situation.

The story also says that Lionhead will incorporate the Milo tech in a Fable-themed Kinect title at some point.

After not appearing at this year's E3, there were reports that Milo had been canceled, but this was soon refuted by Microsoft, who stated that the project was still on, but simply wouldn't be out in 2010. Molyneux himself backed this up with a demo at the TEDGlobal 2010 conference in July.

If the pattern holds, this latest Milo obituary will be followed by another demo, but your guess is as good as ours as to whether Milo is still around.
