Two New Conduit 2 Screens Surface Along With Details

by Tim Turi on Apr 28, 2010 at 12:45 PM

High Voltage Software’s second FPS outing is positioned to be a much better game than the original. Judging by a new pair of the game's screenshots it definitely looks better. It doesn’t stop there, though, as chief creative officer Eric Nofsinger sheds light on advancements being made to the franchise.

Nofsinger said that for the first Conduit High Voltage Software dedicated so much time to crafting solid Wii gameplay that they didn’t have time to hammer out interesting concept art or an engrossing environment. Conduit 2 is High Voltage’s second chance to impress Wii gamers.

“This time, when approaching art direction for Conduit 2 we’ve made sure never to build anything into our game that we ourselves aren’t completely excited about making,” said Nofsinger. “And unlike the first game (which had limited concept art), practically every location in Conduit 2 was conceptualized, and then those designs have been scrutinized and reworked, until we truly believe that we are choosing the most inspired locations for our game.”

Nofsinger also adds that the lighting system from the first game is being reworked to highlight the game’s higher level of detail. The screenshots here utilize the old lighting system, so expect an even better looking game in the future.

“There’s a lot more that we still want to accomplish with this game before it ships,” said Nosfinger, “and fortunately we still have time to execute on our initial goal to build a game that fully realizes our vision of the Conduit world.”
