Castlevania: Rondo of Blood Heading To Wii?

by Tim Turi on Jan 25, 2010 at 10:45 AM

A recent ESRB rating has surfaced for Konami's Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. The game is allegedly destined for the Wii, backing up previous speculation following an Australian ratings board evaluation back in December.

According to the ESRB’s colorful description, we can all look forward to fighting “an assortment of fantasy creatures “ with “boomerangs” in “2D-style…graveyards” until they “react to damage by roaring or screaming, flashing red, blinking off the screen, or briefly spewing a blood-like fluid.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Rondo, you may have already unknowingly sort-of beaten it. Think back to the opening to Symphony of the Night where Richter takes down Dracula. Titled “Final Stage: Bloodlines,” this mislabeled prologue to Alucard’s quest was actually from the final chapter of Dracula X: Rondo of Blood. If this does make it to the Wii, it marks the first time Castlevania fans can play the events leading up to the PSone classic (if you ignore the PSP remake, Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles).

More on this awesome potential Virtual Classic addition as it develops.
