Sony’s PSP Comic Store Opens For Business

by Ben Reeves on Dec 16, 2009 at 09:05 AM

Flip through a comic book and you’re likely to see half-a-dozen ads for this season’s upcoming games. It’s no surprise that there is a lot of crossover between comic fans and video game fans. Sony is gearing up to cater to this subgroup with it new online PSP comic store.

Sony’s service starts today in several countries, including the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The store’s homepage isn’t up and running quite yet, but later today comic fans should be able to download all kinds of comicy goodness from publishers like Marvel, IDW, Titan, iVerse and 2000AD. We just need Batman and Green Lantern publisher DC Comics to hop on board and we’ll never need to run to the comic store again.

Sure these new digital comics are harder to stuff into Mylar bags, but at least we won’t have to worry about our little sister greasing up the pages. What do you guys think? Anyone out there planning on downloading a few digital comics?
