Test Chamber – Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Edition
Nintendo and GungHo Entertainment's match-three mashup Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition came out last week, and we thought we'd give a quick video tour. Join Kyle Hilliard and me as we organize a team, match orbs, and tear through a boss battle.
If you're not familiar with Puzzle & Dragons' orb-matching mechanic, this should give you a quick overview of how it works. I also show off my bread-and-butter team, which is designed to wreck enemies quickly – keep in mind that it's difficult to talk and match at the same time. That's the excuse I'm going with, at least.
The 3DS game puts a Mario spin on the base game, though it offers more than just a surface-level reskin. We didn't show Puzzle & Dragons Z in this Test Chamber, but it's a completely different adventure with an all-new presentation, too. It's a great bundle, as I said in my review, and it's going to be in my gaming rotation for the foreseeable future. It's a time sink, in the best way possible.
