Yacht Club Games Publishing Both Azure Striker Gunvolt Games In Physical Release This Fall

by AJ Moser on Jul 08, 2016 at 01:07 PM

The first Azure Striker Gunvolt game was a digital exclusive when it launched in 2014. However, Yacht Club Games, a company best known for developing the retro platforming Shovel Knight, is breaking into the world of publishing later this year when it brings both the original Azure Striker Gunvolt and its sequel to a physical release for Nintendo 3DS.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 was announced during a Nintendo Direct earlier this year for the 3DS. The game now has a release date of September 30, both on digital and in the physical Striker Pack. The package collecting both games will cost $29.99. See a brief teaser for the Striker Pack below.

The sequel adds a new playable character, Copen, and even more electrifying abilities. The re-release of Azure Striker Gunvolt is also adding the original Japanese dialogue. For our review of the first game, head here.

Our Take
Azure Striker Gunvolt is a game that didn't get enough appreciation when it released, so it'll be nice for players who haven't yet jumped in to have an excuse to try out the original as well as the sequel.
