Improved Party Features And Customization Options Coming To Xbox One Preview Today

by Mike Futter on Jan 19, 2016 at 02:30 AM

Microsoft has revealed the next slate of features that will be rolling out to Xbox One preview members starting today. The list of additions targets party, streaming, and customization options.

The features, which will eventually be available to the entire user base, will allow you to hide items in your library you don’t want to install (like expired betas). You’ll also be able to rearrange pins on your dashboard.

When viewing a friend’s party, you’ll now be able to see who is in it already. For the competitive among us, the Gamerscore leaderboard makes a return. You can compare total score and 30-day gains.

For those who lament the absence of new avatar accessories as they existed on the Xbox 360, the store makes a return on both Windows 10 and Xbox One. You’ll also see improvements to trending items and suggested friends.

A number of minor features will also be included. Preview members should see these start appearing today. If Microsoft’s 2015 cadence is an indication, preview will lead full release by approximately one month.

Our Take
These are list of relatively minor features. And while it’s good to see that Microsoft is continuing to polish the Xbox One experience, it would be great to see how the backward compatibility library is expanding this month.
