EVE Valkyrie Enters Alpha For Oculus Rift DK2 Owners This Month

by Mike Futter on Jan 06, 2016 at 07:42 AM

Sure, the Oculus Rift won’t be available until March (or April… or May depending on when you ordered). But if you happen to be in possession of a Developer Kit 2 (DK2), there’s something fun on the horizon.

CCP has announced that its space dogfighting simulator, EVE Valkyrie, enters closed alpha testing this month. Those interested can sign up on the EVE Valkyrie website.

The testing phase begins on January 18, and players will be admitted in waves. For those waiting on a consumer version, all Rift pre-orders include EVE Valkyrie.

You can still place your order on the Oculus website. For more on the price, launch specifics, and additional details, check out our previous coverage.

Our Take
EVE Valkyrie continues to be one of my favorite VR experiences. I’ll be waiting for a consumer Rift, but if you happen to have a DK2, get on this.
