Battlefield 4 Community Test Environment Deploying For Xbox One Next Week
DICE launched the community test environment (CTE) on PC last year. After its success, the team announced plans to bring the CTE to the Xbox One. In a Reddit post, DICE explained that the Xbox One CTE game client was supposed to be available five days ago. The studio "hit some snags" and the date was pushed back. In light of DICE LA being "out" this week, July 6 is the new release date.
On PC, you can access the CTE as long as you own any copy of BF4. The Xbox One-native CTE will serve the same purpose for Battlefield 4 as it does on the PC, albeit with less frequent updates. To be eligible, players must own an Xbox One copy of Battlefield 4, be a Premium member, and also be a member of the Xbox One Preview program. Players on the server get a chance to test out Battlefield 4's latest features and give feedback before the updates hit the retail version of the game.
DICE has not announced any plans for a PS4 version of the CTE.

DICE has been talking about getting this CTE onto consoles since December. Another few days is only a small delay, all things considered. Console players have had the option to participate in the PC CTE, but now at least Xbox One owners can play on their own versions of the game.
