Evolution Studios: ‘Majority Of Driveclub Players’ Now Able To Connect, Play

by Mike Futter on Oct 20, 2014 at 02:01 AM

Over the weekend, Evolution Studios updated Driveclub owners on the status of repairs to the game’s online infrastructure. The news is good, this time out, and players should notice improvement, according to the developer.

“We're still improving server performance to get all of you enjoying full online connectivity together, but the majority of DRIVECLUB players should now be able to connect and play online,” the company writes. Evolution says it rolled out additional server updates and upgrades, and players should be able to take part in activities online.

Evolution also acknowledges that the work is not yet complete. “We are working flat out to get online sign-in, multiplayer racing and leaderboards running smoothly for everyone, all of the time,” the company says.

We are still waiting for comment from Sony on possible compensation and information on refunds for those consumers who were unable to use the game during the first week and a half. We’ll update should we receive a response.

Our Take
I hope that Sony and Evolution learn from this experience. The meter is still running and will continue to until Evolution reports the game is working as intended for all users, all the time. It’s been nearly two weeks since release and we’re not there yet.
