NBA 2K15 Addresses Disappearing Faces, But Still Facing Server Issues
Some players of Visual Concepts' latest basketball game have complained of the face scans and custom names for their MyPlayer disappearing overnight. Thankfully, it appears as though the developer has now rectified the issue.
According to a tweet from 2K support, whatever was causing the data to be erased in the new-gen iterations of the game has been cleared up:
The #NBA2K15 issue with losing face scans and names of your MyPlayer has now been addressed for PS4 and Xbox One.

It's good to hear that this got resolved quickly. Part of the point of MyPlayer is the customization, so if that doesn't stick, it's easy to lose your investment.
On the other hand, players are still having problems connecting to 2K servers for MyCareer, MyPark, and the MyPlayer store. This is a recurring issue for Visual Concepts, as NBA 2K14 was also plagued with connectivity problems when it launched.
Our Take
NBA 2K15 seems to have some trouble with faces. Even with the scans and names remaining intact, that fix is likely a small consolation to the players who are still having problems getting online due to server issues. The recurring problems make you question why Visual Concepts forces players to interact with servers so frequently in these modes given that MyCareer and MyGM are primarily offline experiences.
