Call Of Duty DLC Comes To Xbox First, Advanced Warfare Kicks Off E3 [Trailer Added]

by Mike Futter on Jun 09, 2014 at 06:47 AM

Microsoft's head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, kicked off the Microsoft press conference by confirming that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare DLC is coming first to Xbox once again. In a new, live gameplay segment for the title, we see a dropship under fire and crashing.

As the soldiers emerge, Seoul, Korea is under attack. The gameplay looks familiar until the soldiers jump from great heights using boosters to slow their descent.

As they come outside, we get our first look at a massive city, with buildings crumbling, a soldier in large power armor, and a stomping spider tank. The feel is familiar, though the new technology (like a pulse that shows enemies behind cover, swarming drones, and grenades with variable effects) and setting look fresh. At the end, we get a grisly look at the main character, Mitchell, losing his arm.
