Local Multiplayer Coming To Goat Simulator

by Cameron Koch on Apr 07, 2014 at 10:05 AM

Do you wish you could share your crazy goat experiences with a friend? You're in luck. Local multiplayer is coming to Goat Simulator free of charge next month.

In addition to local multiplayer, Goat Simulator patch 1.1 will also include a new map roughly the same size of the original, new achievements, new goats, and more. If you are wondering why multiplayer will be local only, creator Armin Ibrisagic shines some light on the situation in the forum post officially announcing the new content.

"As we've announced before, online multiplayer doesn't quite work with Goat Simulator since we can't synchronize the physics we're using across different computers, but local co-op with splitscreen should work!" Ibrisagic says.

You can check out the full patch announcement here, and be sure to check out our Goat Simulator review.

Our Take
Goat Simulator seems like the perfect party game to play with a friend for a few hours, so it's great to see that this update will be free. Given Goat Simulator's popularity, it could have easily been paid DLC.
