Ebay Alert: New Original NES Game Released, Sells Out Instantly

by Matt Helgeson on Feb 23, 2010 at 09:37 AM

The folks at Retrozone are a one-stop shop for homebrew Nintendo developers, selling parts, development tools, and other things necessary for programming and manufacturing your own NES cartridges. Today the site put a brand new, all original NES game – Sivak Games’ Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril – on sale. The response from NES fanatics was swift; the cartridge, priced at $30.00, is already sold out.

According to Retrozone, Battle Kid is a 2D platformer “inspired from I Wanna Be The Guy along with other classic platforming games. The game tasks Battle Kid with navigating over 550 rooms of “an ancient high tech fortress” to stop nefarious forces from building a powerful “Supermech” weapon. Along the way, you’ll dispose of over 30 different enemy types. The game has five difficulty settings and features a password save system.

Hopefully, Retrozone will have more stock soon. If not, I’m sure copies will be up on eBay in the near future.
