5 Mobile Games To Play On The Potty

by Mike Futter on Jan 19, 2015 at 01:14 PM

Let’s be honest. Phone gaming is at its best when we’re stuck doing something else. Waiting in line? Pull out your phone. Getting your car serviced? Play a game on your mobile device. Going to the bathroom? Game on.

We’ve got some tips for the best games to play in short bursts while you’re doing your business. Sure, the context might be crude, but these games are great.

Honeycomb Hotel by Everett Kaser Software
I’ve recently discovered this brilliant logic puzzle game. You’re presented a varied number of rows of seasons, flowers, produce, letters, bugs, and more.

With the clues provided, you need to figure out not only which item goes in which hex, but also the path through them from the entrance to the exit. This is a great thinker for when you’re making a stinker.

Hitman GO by Square Enix
Last year’s mobile Hitman title is a great puzzler that pulls from Agent 47’s more action-oriented history. You’ll need to use costumes, distraction tools, and guns to accomplish your mission.

Hitman GO (our review) certainly more cerebral than the bald man’s previous outings. However, it’s a great way to assassinate some bad guys while you’re doing the same to the porcelain.

Plague, Inc. by Ndemic Creations
Some games pit you as a scientist eradicating terrible infections from the world. Plague, Inc. flips the script and makes you the pathogen.

You’ll need to mutate your contagion so that it spreads from its point of origin across the globe. Of course, you don’t want to move too quickly or the hosts will die before they can pass you along.

Wash your hands (and maybe put your phone in an autoclave) when you’re done. You don’t want to be patient zero.

Ridiculous Fishing by Vlambeer
This title is great for short burst play. The premise is simple: dodge the fish and detritus on your way down and get as close to maximum depth as possible.

On the way up, reel in as many fish as possible. Once you reach the surface, they fly in the air and you shoot them. This is a great time waster to play while you’re dropping a depth charge.

Marvel Puzzle Quest by D3 Publisher
This free-to-play take on the Puzzle Quest series combines match-3, RPG elements, and superheroes. The monetization isn’t terrible oppressive in Marvel Puzzle Quest, and the writing is quite good.

It’s been a while since there’s been a proper Puzzle Quest game, and while the microtransactions might put some off, it’s definitely worth a try. Just remember to be a superhero when you’re done playing, too. A little air deodorizer goes a long way.
