After launching almost a year ago, Bethesda still hasn't released the
first expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on PlayStation 3. It
appears the streak is coming to an end soon.
Diablo III has sold over 10 million units to date, so of course Blizzard
is looking to keep fans engaged. The publisher confirmed today it has
an "expansion plan" for the game.
Microsoft confirmed the Gears of War series to date has sold 19 million
copies worldwide. The series made its debut with the original game in
November 2006.
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K Games and Rockstar Games,
announced it is moving its 2K West QA Testing studio from Northridge,
Calif. to downtown Las Vegas, Nev. next year.
Not to be confused with the Xbox Live app, the new SmartGlass app
interacts with your Xbox 360, in some cases changing your phone or
tablet into a second screen.
Halo 4 officially launches today and things haven't been completely
smooth. Microsoft says it's currently investigating server issues that
have caused problems for some gamers.
Valve announced the limited access beta for its new Steam for Linux
client is now available. The Linux Beta client supports the free-to-play
game Team Fortress 2, Big Picture mode, and two dozen additional Steam
titles.
Ubisoft said today that estimated sales for Assassin's Creed III in the
first week totaled 3.5 million units sold. This represents a 100 percent
year-over-year increase from the previous title, the publisher said.
Microsoft may soon be entering the mobile gaming space by releasing its
own 7-inch tablet. According to a report today from The Verge, Microsoft
is prepping Xbox Surface, a tablet designed specifically for gaming.
