In advance of a showing at PAX West in the coming days, developer Human Head and publisher Digital Extremes is showing off a first look at Survived By. The game combines roguelite elements, MMO structure, bullet hell shooting, and retro aesthetics into an unusual but intriguing combo. The game promises boss fights, dungeon exploration, looting, and a crafting system as well. Players choose one of several character classes (like Druid or Geomancer) and fight their way through battles until they die, at which point one of their descendants takes up the cause, and inherits a small part of their power and skill, represented in the game by buffs and stat advantages.
Along with the announcement, the game makers are sending out a call to join the free alpha by heading to the game’s official site.
