GI Show – Destiny: The Taken King, Inside Nintendo With Comedian Mike Drucker

by Tim Turi on Sep 17, 2015 at 01:00 PM

Bungie updated Destiny last week with its big Update 2.0 overhaul, changing loot systems, quest tracking, and even the voice of your robot companion. All that was to set the stage for this week's The Taken King expansion. This space-faring tyrant is tearing up our solar system with wild remixes of existing enemies and a gigantic ship called the Dreadnought. On this week's show, we enthusiastically dive into Destiny's new content, catch up on Dark Souls, and chat with former Nintendo Treehouse alum, comedian, and Jimmy Fallon writer Mike Drucker.

This week's Game Informer Show crew is Andy McNamara, Wade Wojcik, Jeff Cork, and Tim Turi. Andy has been knee-deep in Destiny for days now, and even non-believers should be sure to listen for all the enticing changes Bungie is making to the game. In addition to all that, we also gush over our hands-on time with Super Mario Maker (play our levels here) and offer some info on Dark Souls III's new magic system. The email-answering segment this week is a good one too, covering everything from Mount Rushmore to those games you just can't get into. Be sure to stick around for the interview with Mike Drucker. The Jimmy Fallon writer is not only incredibly entertaining, he also shares stories and insight from his time working inside Nintendo's Treehouse.
