Capcom Announces Monster Hunter XX Is Coming To Switch

by Jeff Cork on May 26, 2017 at 09:54 AM

Capcom announced on its Japanese site that it's bringing its Monster Hunter series to the Nintendo Switch via an HD port of the 3DS game, Monster Hunter XX.

The 3DS game Monster Hunter XX is an enhanced version of Monster Hunter X, which was released in North America as Monster Hunter Generations (pictured above). We liked Monster Hunter Generations giving it an 8.75 in our review. The XX version hasn't been released outside of Japan yet, and there's no word if this Switch version release will either.

More details on the game will be revealed on May 27.

Our Take
This is a perfect game for the Switch. A large part of Monster Hunter's appeal is its portability, but the flexibility of Nintendo's newest hybrid console gives players who prefer to play on larger screens a chance to check it out, too.
