Report: Resident Evil 7 Biohazard PC, Xbox One Saves Will Be Cross-Compatible

by Suriel Vazquez on Nov 26, 2016 at 08:42 AM

Although Resident Evil 7 Biohazard will have full support for PlayStation VR on PlayStation 4, players who want the game on other platforms will have at least one feature to tout: cross-save support.

According to a Japanese Dengeki article translated by IGN Japan, the game will feature cross-save functionality on Xbox One and PC. IGN was able to confirm with Capcom that saves for both version will be cross-compatible. The Dengeki article also states the game will support HDR on all platforms and 4K support on PC and PlayStation 4.

IGN was not, however, able to confirm with Capcom whether this means the game will be part of Microsoft's "Play Anywhere" initiative, wherein users who buy the digital version of a game Xbox One or PC receive a copy of the game on the other platform.

Game Informer has reached out to Capcom to confirm whether the game will support Play Anywhere and will update this story should they reply.

Our Take
I'd love it if Resident Evil 7 were part of Play Anywhere, since it'd mean I could buy the PC version and, if that version doesn't work well on my computer, have the Xbox One version as a backup. Hopefully Capcom confirms that's the case soon.
