Weekend Warrior – Still Playing Overwatch

by Blake Hester on Jun 03, 2016 at 02:00 PM

This week we finally finished building that couch, so it’s time to do what we do best and play unhealthy amounts of video games. Once again, a lot of editors are sinking long hours into Overwatch, but also Hitman, Uncharted 4, Clash Royale, and the newest expansion for The Witcher 3, Blood and Wine. Let us know in the comments what you plan to play this weekend!

Mike Futter (@Futterish) – I’m well on my way through Uncharted 4 and will make an effort to finish it this weekend. Beyond that, we’re bringing a new puppy home (his name is Wrex), so I suspect I’ll be spending my time with my new furry friend.

Haley MacLean (@haleyfaxer) – I'm game to just follow Geralt around the new map of Toussiant in The Witcher III: Blood and Wine for the majority of the weekend. I'm about 5 hours in and so far it's been fantastic. It's more apt to call it an expansion rather than a DLC, as all the new content is sure to give me 20+ hours of game time at least. Probably more if I keep obsessing over the aesthetics of my vineyard, and laughing at Geralt calling his new property butler BB (Barnabas-Basil) all the time.

Brian Shea (@BrianPShea– I’m actually all caught up on single-player games I’ve been needing to finish, so I’m going back and playing Twilight Princess HD since I loved the original, but never finished it. In the time between Twilight Princess sessions, I’ll be happily filling the gaps with Overwatch matches and plenty of Clash Royale. I’m also using my New 3DS (which is finally set up correctly) to play some old Game Boy games I never had the chance to play. I just played through Kirby’s Dream Land for the first time last night, and am looking at my next target as either the next Kirby game or Super Mario Land 2.

Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – This weekend the real question is how cramped my hands will become after playing too much Overwatch. I really love the game and am having a blast playing with a group of friends. My new number one goal in life is to earn enough in-game currency to buy Mei's firefighter outfit. It's just the best. Other than Overwatch, I'm looking forward to checking out Dangerous Golf on Steam and whatever else pops up. Have a good weekend!

Blake Hester – I’ve recently been dabbling with Hitman’s third episode, so I plan on diving back into Marrakesh and learning the ins and outs of the level. The more I play Hitman, and the more content that rolls out for it, the more I’m really starting to love that game. Aside from that, I have a nice date lined up with a 40oz. bottle of Olde English 800.

AJ Moser (@AndMoser– I may have burnt myself out on Overwatch after putting over 30 hours in last weekend, so I think I'll step away from the fantastic multiplayer shooter for a little bit. I recently took advantage of Capcom's 3DS sale and downloaded the Mega Man Legacy Collection. The first two games have been excellent, and I'm excited to continue diving into this series for the first time.

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard– My parents are coming in to town to visit this weekend, so we'll be doing dinners and offering frequent reminders to my daughter that she is in fact growing. That will be the majority of my weekend, but I hope to knock out Uncharted and get in a few rounds of Overwatch here and there. Also, as promised last week, my wife and I did finish our couch, so I'm planning on sitting on it.

Dan (the man) Tack (@dantack– This weekend, I believe I will retire to my gaming chamber with a highball glass filled to the brim with diet ginger beer and my monogrammed blue robe and take in the sights, the sounds, and the smells of some Overwatch. There will be a side table prepared for the occasion filled with healthy treats,  like mini-pizzas (low carb!) and breakfast tacos (protein packed!), and there will be a giant bag of cubed ice at the ready to make sure that the gently carbonated ginger beer stays immaculate and delicious at all times. There will likely be sessions that go deep into the night and early morning, resulting in massive nutritional requirements to start the next day of gaming, a full English breakfast with a full French press of coffee, twenty rashers of bacon, and a carton of scrambled eggs – then it’s right back into the mix with Mei, McCree, and Zarya (because I totes just crated a legendary skin for her). When the energy larder is depleted, it will necessitate ordering some fresh supplies, a hot cut of pizza. When the delivery arrives, I’ll be sure I have the game sound blasting in the background so that the delivery person can check out my play of the game and see how awesome I am as JUSTICE RAINS FROM ABOVE.

Wow, my weekend is going to rock.
