Game of Thrones Season Six Trailer Says Fans Know Nothing

by Joseph Knoop on Dec 03, 2015 at 11:28 AM

Game of Thrones fans have much to weep over, as bloody and unforgiving as the show is. According to HBO’s newly released teaser trailer for season six, however, none of us have any idea of what’s coming. I bet it’s winter. SPOILER WARNING.

The newly released teaser trailer for Game of Thrones sixth season is riddled with quite a few spoilers, not the least of which includes multiple deaths and disfigurements of series characters.

The end of season five saw the brutal betrayal of Jon Snow at the hands of his subordinates at the Wall. Since then, HBO has used Snow as a centerpiece of its marketing campaign for season six, including putting him on the poster.

The dialogue appears to be an exchange between Bran Stark (played by Isaac Hempstead Wright), entirely absent from season four, and his new mentor, the three-eyed raven, played by Swedish actor Max von Sydow. The trailer’s dialogue is a fairly obvious reference to whether or not Jon Snow is going to stay dead in the Game of Thrones universe. When Bran was last featured in season four, we saw him begin to learn more about his psychic abilities.

In any case, there’s still no word on whether or not George R. R. Martin is planning to finish his sixth book, “The Winds of Winter” before season six starts. Book purists may want to avoid season six, as large portions are expected to be spoiled in the new season.
