Where Is Our Splatoon Review?

by Brian Shea on May 26, 2015 at 06:23 PM

Splatoon has been a major focus for Nintendo in 2015, and with the release near, the embargo for review coverage has lifted. Over the past couple of weeks, I've played Splatoon extensively, but we've decided to hold off for a bit before publishing my review.

As Nintendo has advertised during its Nintendo Direct segments, Splatoon features a heavy emphasis on online play, and we feel as though we need to test the experience our readers will be getting when the game officially launches on Friday. Without waiting for Friday to come, however, that is impossible, so we've decided to put the brakes on my review until the game is out in North America and we have the chance to try it out under those conditions.

While we may be waiting to give my full impressions, I can tell you that I've been enjoying my time with Splatoon. The online play is fast-paced and extremely fun, but the real surprise is the single-player mode. There are some hitches in the formula that leave me scratching my head, however. If you want to read more about my full thoughts, you'll be able to read my complete review soon! In the meantime, you can also check out Ben's hands-on preview with Splatoon.
