Weekend Warrior 4/17/2015

by Justin Mikos on Apr 17, 2015 at 02:00 PM

This weekend nearly everyone is invested with Bloodborne and many are making huge progress in the game. Others are continuing with recent games such as Axiom Verge, Ori and the Blind Forest, and Box Boy! What games are you playing this weekend? Be sure to share in the comments below!

Joe Juba (@Joejuba): I'm approaching the home stretch in Bloodborne (I think), so I'm hoping to finish that off and maybe dip my toes into some New Game+. I've also been meaning to start Pillar of Eternity, but the sheer size (and necessary time investment) can be daunting. Maybe with Bloodborne off my plate, I'll finally get a chance to see what all the fuss is about.

Andrew Reiner (@Andrew_Reiner): I'm hanging out with a bunch of stormtroopers at Star Wars Celebration. I'll probably empty most of my savings account on Star Wars toys and glossy, autographed photos of Ewoks. I'm not making that last part up; I'm collecting Ewok autographs.

Ben Hanson (@yozetty): This weekend I'm finally going to start some game called Bloodborne. Other than that, I'm also going to play more Pillars of Eternity (still trying to wrap my head around that thing) and start the Steven Universe RPG on the iPad that I've heard good and Paper Mario-y things about. Have a good weekend!

Jeff Marchiafava (@GIJeffM): I have been continuing my nerve-racking romp through Bloodborne – last night I opened up Great Cathedral, and managed to open up a bunch of shortcuts while stalking through the winding locations at a snail’s pace and jumping at the sight of every enemy. I plan to continue exploring Yharnam this weekend, though the siren’s call of Zen Pinball 2 has gotten to me once again, so I may end up spending sometime in the virtual arcades as well.

Mike Futter (@futterish): This weekend is going to spent digging deeper into Bloodborne. Maybe this time I’ll actually take down the Cleric Beast. Maybe.

Ben Reeves (@BenjaminReeves): I’m taking my nieces rock climbing this weekend, so that should be fun. Other than that, I’m really close to the end of Bloodborne, so I hope that I’ll be able to put that one to rest soon. Not sure what I’ll play after that though. It’s time to start looking at my backlog.

Kyle Hilliard (@kylemhilliard): I'm still creeping my way through Ori and Axiom Verge (I haven't had much time to play console games the last few weeks), and my wife and I are about half-way through Daredevil, which I've been enjoying. I'm also tempted to watch the original Star Wars trilogy for some weird reason. Couldn't tell you why, though. I also downloaded Mario Kart 7 randomly. Never played it when it came out originally.

Tim Turi (@timturi): The last time I wrote a Weekend Warrior entry, I mentioned that I had beaten Bloodborne and was ready to dive into all the games I’d been putting off, like Ori and the Blind Forest, Axiom Verge, and more. However, From Software’s latest still has its deformed, gnarled claws sunk deep within me. I will be playing more Bloodborne this weekend.

Elise Favis (@elisefavis): I’ve been enjoying Counter Spy this week, and I plan to continue that. I’m also going to play some games Justin suggested to me, like Box Boy! and Mr. Jump. I’ve already started the mobile platformer Mr. Jump, and was surprised by how challenging it is. There’s something really zen about playing through it, even if you die constantly. Finally, I’m going to advance further in Pillars of Eternity as well.

Justin Mikos (@JustinMikos): I’m spending my final weekend in Minnesota preparing for my drive back to California and I’m really hoping to hang out with some of the editors and interns if possible. It’s been really fun and awesome up here so I’m not eager to leave on Thursday. I’m planning on wrapping up the bonus worlds and challenge modes of Box Boy!, play more Axiom Verge, and continue watching Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Bladeworks and Nisekoi Season 2. Also, thanks for reading my features and watching the videos I was on! It was always was fun talking with you guys in the comments and on Twitter too! Enjoy your weekend everyone!
