Take A Look At The Japan-Only Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden From The Makers Of Guilty Gear

by Kyle Hilliard on Mar 29, 2015 at 11:20 AM

Arc System Works, the studio behind fighters like Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, have a new Dragon Ball Z game coming to 3DS soon in Japan.

You can check out a very brief trailer Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden below as well as a collection of screens in the gallery at the bottom of the page. The game will apparently feature 100 playable fighters, though it looks like some of those will be used as support characters. Non-fighting characters like Bulma and Chi-Chi (who, admittedly, did fight in the past) can be called in for special moves and assists.

This isn't Arc System Works' first Dragon Ball Z game. The developer released two Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors games for Game Boy Advance and DS, both of which released in North America.

Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden releases for 3DS in Japan on June 11.

Our Take
There is no word on a U.S. release for the game, but considering the recent success of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, I'd be surprised if Bandai Namco didn't decide to localize the game for North America.
