Titanfall Update Adds Marked For Death, Titan Burn Cards, More

by Mike Futter on Jun 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM

Titanfall is getting a sizable (free) update very soon. Respawn is getting set to add a new mode, 14 new Titan-focused burn cards, and a host of new customization options.

Marked for Death mode tags one player on each team as the target. The rest of the team has to keep the VIP alive. Shortly after this update, Wingman Last Titan Standing, a two-on-two version of the mode, will be added.

Customization options, like Titan insignia (including a special one for people who completed the Gooser challenge before it was made easier), two new Titan voice over options, and a customizable challenge tracker onboard, also. Auto-titans get a boost, as they will now use all abilities at their disposal, including electric smoke to ward of pilots.

Burn cards are becoming more flexible, and you won’t automatically lose new ones if you go over the limit during a match. You will need to discard down to your maximum capacity, though. You’ll also have easier access to your selected cards during a match, and a more visible prompt reminding you to use them.

You can read the full patch notes on the official Titanfall website. For more, check out our review and our impressions of the first DLC pack, Expedition.

Our Take
The changes in this update add a number of usability features that fans have been asking for. Respawn has kept lines of communication open to players, and the strategy is paying off for both parties.
