Nintendo Apologizes For Missing European TVii Launch Window
Nintendo missed the intended launch window for its TVii services in Europe, and has issued an apology to Wii U owners.
You can find the apology on Nintendo's European TVii site. Nintendo doesn't offer an excuse, or an adjusted launch date. Only an apology, and the promise of more details soon.
We would like to apologise that we were unable to bring the Nintendo TVii service to Europe in 2013 as originally planned.
Please continue to keep an eye out for further announcements regarding this service in the near future.
The TVii service, which was available in North America shortly after the launch of the Wii U, was supposed to be available in Europe in 2013, but it's now 2014 and European Wii U owners still can't use their console's GamePad as a stand-in for a television remote.

Our Take
We haven't heard much about the integration of TVii in many months, and this apology for its delay in Europe offers little hope for the future of the service. Nintendo appears to have lost some momentum in regard to its integration. I'm curious how many Wii U owners take advantage of the service and if its worth Nintendo's continued investment of resources towards it.
