You Can Access Developer Settings Right Now On Your Xbox One (But You Shouldn't)
Yesterday, a YouTube channel called GameTuts posted a video on how to access the developer settings on your Xbox One. It's a neat trick, but you shouldn't do it, especially if you don't know what you're doing.
While the settings make it seem like you'll be able to turn your Xbox One into a fully functioning devkit, that won't happen. More importantly, you can render your Xbox One inert by making a mistake. "Changing the settings in this menu is only intended for developers for Xbox One, and this alone does not turn the console into a development kit," Microsoft told Engadget.
If you have put your console in this mode, restoring to factory defaults will fix it. You can access this option under Settings/System.

Given that some of the retail functions of the Xbox One, like cable surround sound, are still in Beta, it's best not to mess around with this stuff. If you really want to become an Xbox One developer, the ID@Xbox program is your best bet. Microsoft is typically very aggressive with piracy, and it no doubt is watching what users do with access to this menu.
