Remember The 5th of November With A Minecraft V For Vendetta Movie Reenactment

by Mike Trinh on Nov 05, 2013 at 09:15 AM

Fans of V for Vendetta likely know that today, November 5, holds great significance. On this day in 1605, a plot to assassinate King James I using gunpowder explosives was discovered and stopped. For centuries, people celebrated the failure of the Gunpowder Plot on November 5. Today, however, it has simply become an occasion to see fireworks and light bonfires.

The holiday was turned into a day to remember the importance of fundamental rights and the freedom of protest by the V for Vendetta graphic novel and movie.

As a tribute to the movie and graphic novel, Youtube user Brook Morrison has recreated V for Vendetta's explosive ending in Minecraft and has uploaded it for the world to see. The video features the Palace of Westminster, meticulously built using Minecraft blocks, being blown up with TNT.

Watch the video below and catch up on some recent Minecraft news. How will you commemorate this November 5?
