Black Ops PC Tech Issues Acknowledged

by Adam Biessener on Nov 09, 2010 at 08:17 AM

Treyarch multiplayer design director David Vonderhaar confirmed this afternoon via Twitter that the team is aware of the multiplayer issues many PC players are experiencing with Call of Duty: Black Ops. Treyarch has not yet presented an ETA on a fix, but at least the developers know that the problems are out there. So that's something, right?

Graphical lag, sound bugs, and more have been widely but intermittently reported by PC gamers trying to get their Black Ops on. Meanwhile, many PC players – including us here at GI – have not experienced any issues whatsoever.

Tracking down the numbers on something like this is impossible for anyone but Treyarch itself, and likely difficult for them as well. Judging by the amount of smoke being blown around on the Internet today, though, the problems with the PC version are hardly isolated incidents with rare hardware configurations.

We have contacted Activision for comment and will update this story with any official response.
