Take-Two Shuffles Executive Deck

by Adam Biessener on Oct 29, 2010 at 07:00 AM

CEO Ben Feder is abdicating his position in the company "in order to pursue plans to travel in Asia with his family for an extended period." Feder will remain a partner in ZelnickMedia, the umbrella firm under whose undoubtedly benevolent shadow Take-Two exists. Life's rough all over.

Current chairman Strauss Zelnick will assume CEO duties in addition to his current position, while executive vice president Karl Slatoff is being promoted to the new chief operating officer role.

The press release from the company continues on with a few paragraphs of the kind of meaningless platitudes about "orderly transitions" and "achieving our strategic goals" that always accompany such announcements.

This ultimately means very little to gamers, as the senior management at Take-Two remains largely unchanged. Basically, a super-rich guy took an extended vacation. Aren't you glad I'm here to brighten up your Friday?
