Rockstar, Gamestop Reveal Red Dead Preorder Bonus
Late last year, Rockstar Games and Gamestop decided to take a different route when coming up with a Red Dead Redemption preorder bonus. Rather than throw an in-game outfit at players and calling it good, the two companies decided it would be great to tap into the community’s excitement. After amassing a number of votes at a Red Dead Redemption landing site, they’re ready to reveal the outcome. Hint: It’s an in-game outfit.
Players who preorder the game at Gamestop will now have access to the Deadly Assassin outfit, which handily beat out the Savvy Merchant and Expert Hunter alternatives. Savvy Merchant? Really? After earning the outfit through a series of missions, players who don the threads will find their Dead Eye meter refilling at a record clip—twice the normal speed. That’ll come in handy when it’s time to take out critters/outlaws/varmints.
