Rare Shuts Down Hopes Of Goldeneye On XBLA, VC
If you were a gamer between the ages of 12 and 30 in the late-90s, Rare's latest Q&A is sure to disappoint you. Despite the fact that it would assuredly be a top seller, the possibility of Goldeneye 007 appearing on Xbox Live Arcade or Virtual Console is "long past the stage where an agreement was on the cards."
You may remember this matter being brought up as a possibility numerous times in the past, with some websites and magazines even posting high-res photos of the supposedly in-development game. Those desperate to someday see "Achievement Unlocked: Make Everyone Hate You By Being Oddjob" appear on their screens can possibly find solace in Rare's last line on the matter: "...but you never know. Stranger things have happened... somewhere... probably."
Strange like the high definition version of Perfect Dark that's hitting the downloadable scene? At least we have that...
