Blog Herding – The Best Blogs Of The Community (December 15, 2016)
Another week, another Blog Herding – and a bunch of great blogs to read!
Community Blogs For December 8 – December 14:
UPDATE
What I'd Want from a GameInformer App
When GI launched an app, Cru Hunter was a happy reader. Since October, the Blog
Herding member has been using it to read gaming articles. The app review has some great suggestions on how to improve the experience, with an in-depth look at
how it fares for those considering the download. Me? I'm still reading the
magazine and site.

Cheer! Heropon's Top 100 VG Character List – Part 5
Heropon is ambitious in the pursuit to write about this many fantastic video
game characters. There seem to be an eclectic mix of personalities on this
list, and each character has a sizable description stating their case. A long
read, but a good one.
My
Nine Favorite Games I Played At The 2016 PlayStation Experience
Justin Mikos gives readers a breakdown of the best nine games he was able to
get his hands on, out of a total of 19 played. There aren't too many surprises within,
but it is nice to see Cosmic Star Heroine is still on track (I haven't heard
much on it for a while).
The
Return of the Mech?
Rival_M writes this ode to mech games and celebrates a possible influx of giant
robot games. While we're doing the robot renaissance, I would love to see
a proper Front Mission on PS4, and another Robot Alchemic Drive.
My
Favorite Game Of All Time
I don't think I could choose a top five favorite games unless it was a matter
of life and death, but GerardoExber doesn't do that alone – he shares his
love of Persona 4 via a majestic poem.
30
Lost or Abandoned Nintendo Franchises (Part 2 of 3)
RezidentHazard (Skeptical Inquirer) remembers a slew of awesome Nintendo
franchises that seemed to be on a path to greatness before mostly being
forgotten. I for one would welcome back a third Baten Kaitos game. For that
matter, can we get a proper Chibi Robo sequel?

When Heroes Die
So StarterPack has to go and throw dust in my eyes with the Cowboy Bebop intro,
and then gets pretty creative in this blog about loss.
Community
Writing Challenge: From Cloud To Aeris
GerardoExber hits us with another poem. This time it's about a scene in a game
that brought tears to my eyes and still makes me upset. What a game. And what a
moment.
Community Writing Challenge:
Politics are a hot-button issue pretty much all of the time – maybe more so than ever consider world events. Partisanship aside, what are some of the worst, most devious, or outright spectacular politicians in video games? Dig deeper than the evil emperor; I want to read about all sorts of political figures!
