This week may not have featured a lot of blogs, but what we found were of the highest quality. From getting sweet loot in Destiny while sick, to enjoying the more mundane things in video game life, this week's blogs are a fun read.

The community seems to love taking in-game screenshots, and Rebekah Lang's blog
of Destiny shots does not disappoint. They're nice to look at, making me wish I
had time to jump back into the sci-fi world.

Deserve Compensation Too, But They Need To Fight For It
Daniel Jones touches on the popular subject from last week: voice actor and
video game creator compensation. It's been quite the kerfuffle, and I hope
everyone finds an agreeable way to sort it out. This is a lengthy, good read.
Gaming
While Sick
Lang wrote a lot of blogs this week, which is surprising since she's sick (get
better!), and this one is about just how dedicated she is to playing Destiny. I
mean, when I'm sick I don't even attempt to play games. Netflix, green tea
mixed with orange juice and honey, and sleep for me.
Hearthstone
Minion Look-Alikes? Hmm.
Paulina Masson wrote about how real-life people look similar to Hearthstone
Minions. At first I wasn't sure there'd be anything too similar. I was wrong.
Clearly these cards are modeled after a host of popular figures. It's just
uncanny.

of Mordor: Greasy Popcorn
Gamemaniac3434 doesn't like Shadow of Mordor's story. It's the generic brand of
a generic item that you purchase in a generic store you never want to stop in
again. But the gameplay saves it. Kind of. I think he'd give it 2 bloody orc
heads out of 3 troll carcasses.
Community Writing Challenge:
How do you plan out your gaming schedule? Do you set aside an hour each day, or eight hours on a Saturday? I've had friends who've taken time off to play through games like Halo, and others who drop everything to play FIFA at a moment's notice. Gaming habits are interesting, and I would like to know yours.

GerardoExber goes through a whole host of mundane things he's done in a variety
of games. But really, what's mundane about Mario Kart 64's Rainbow Course
shortcut? I'm pretty sure nailing that jump is the entire point of the game.

Marco Polo talks about meandering through old side-scrollers like Sonic the
Hedgehog, and it immediately reminded me of old gaming habits. I still find
myself gawking at scenery or walking through levels just to do it, so I
understand the mundane activity – and love it.

Writing Challenge: RTS Base Building
Pestulio07 plays RTS games the right way, ignoring the story and going straight
for resource gathering and base building. I didn't even know my old Command
& Conquer games had story modes the first couple months I played them.
Community Playdate:
No playdate this weekend; I still don't have any video game consoles hooked up in my new place.
