Five Guest Wrestlers That Deserve A Spot On The WWE 2K15 Roster

This weekend, 2K revealed the roster for WWE 2K15. It was disappointingly full of real professional wrestlers.

Fighting games have guests all the time. The Soul Calibur series has seen guest fighters as diverse as Link and Darth Vader. Even the recent EA Sports UFC game featured Bruce Lee as a playable character. For some reason though, WWE games never seem to have guests. It does have a character editor which leads to some great fan-made customizations, but it’s just not the same. Here are some extra folks that should have made the cut, or hopefully will make the cut for the final release.

Juan Aguacate – Guacamelee
Juan stars in the Metroid-inspired platformer, Guacamelee, where he wrestles with demonic beings in order to save the love of his life. He’s a powerful luchador with a cool mask, and no shirt. If he were to appear in a WWE game, I hope he would retain his cartoonish style, as opposed to becoming a real human with Juan’s outfit and tattoos.

Goron – The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Gorons have always been a race of creatures seemingly custom-built for wrestling. With their large upper bodies and lack of shirts, they seems like they would fit nicely in a ring surrounded by bungee cords. The Twilight Princess brand of Goron would be most fitting as they actually did some sumo wrestling at one point.

Big Guy – Rhythm Heaven Fever
I don’t actually know his name, but after fielding questions like “Rub dubba dubba, is that true?” and posing for the fans, the interviewer says, “Woah, you go big guy!” so I assume that’s his name. If you’re unfamiliar with Big Guy, he appears in one of Rhtyhm Heaven Fever for the Wii’s most memorable games. You never actually see him wrestle in the game, which is why I would like to see him get his shot. Much like Juan Aguacate, I hope he would retain his cartoon look. He also wears no shirt.

Mike Haggar – Final Fight
Before Mike Haggar decided to take off his shirt and clean up the streets with his bare hands, and before he put his shirt on to become the mayor, he was a professional wrestler who refused to wear a shirt. This means he already knows his way around the ropes and could slide in without the need to acclimate. He would probably be more comfortable in WWE 2K15 than he was in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Solid Snake – Metal Gear Solid
Snake is not a wrestler, never was a wrestler, will likely never be a wrestler (unless this feature is giving 2K some good ideas), and worst of all, he usually wears a shirt. His style of combat, which is to stay in the shadows, avoid confrontation, and not draw attention to himself, is the exact opposite of what a professional wrestler does. He’s on this list because his reveal for Super Smash Bros. Brawl was so surprising and unexpected that it remains my favorite reveal to this day. To appear in WWE 2K15 would probably offer the same level of surprise (and confusion) which is why I would love to see it happen.
