What To Watch This Weekend: Pokémon, Gears of War, and Dota 2

by Suriel Vazquez on Dec 10, 2016 at 04:42 AM

Now comes the testy period between Thanksgiving and the holiday season. For us in the U.S., anyway. For everyone across the pond and beyond, it's just another wonderful weekend to sit back and find something to watch this weekend.

Dota 2's big, single-elimination tournament The Boston Major will have its last semifinal matches and its grand finals today. Today's series will see hotly contended matches between OG and EG, DC and AF, and the winning two acronyms from those first two matches. (Stream / Schedule)

On a less serious note League of Legends' All-Star Event will feature less competitive tournaments, but will also have a few regional matches to keep things interesting. (Stream / Schedule)

Meanwhile, The Pokémon Europoean International Championships are going on, and will have the world's best Pokémon players test their mettle in the latest iteration of the series, Pokémon Sun and Moon. (Stream / Schedule)

The Gears of War Pro Circuit is having its London Open this weekend, with the top team taking home a whopping $150,000 as part of the larger Pro Circuit's $1,000,000 prize pool. (Stream and Schedule)

In the world of Counter-Strike, the eSports Championship Series is underway and will have a total prize pool of $750,000. (Stream / Schedule)

Later tonight (at around 7:30 CST), you can watch the Overwatch Winter Premiere, in which anyone who signed up by the registration deadline can compete for a $100,000 prize. (Stream / Schedule)

That's it for this weekend! Let us know in the comments if we missed any event you think needs covering.
