Nintendo Announces Galaxy Themed New 3DS XL, Out This Week
A new design for the New 3DS XL is on its way, which features a starry, galaxy-themed cover. This purple-hued 3DS will be arriving in stores later this week.
The news was announced via social media, where Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime is seen in a short clip showing off the new design.

In terms of functionality, this unit is identical to other New 3DS XL models, and simply features a fresh coat of paint. Nintendo has begun shipping it out to North American stores today, and you'll be able to purchase one at some point this week. The galaxy-designed handheld console will cost $199.99. Our Take
I'm glad to see more designs for the 3DS, but dedicating an entire video to it seems strange, and its "galaxy" name makes me think of Super Mario Galaxy or Samsung's line of phones. Nonetheless, I'm sure some will appreciate this new look, even as we anxiously wait for more news about the mysterious NX.
