The lights are on
Revealed during EVO 2014 following the Injustice: Gods Among Us championships, Raiden will be making an appearance in Mortal Kombat X.
IGN spoke with Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon about Raiden's return, revealing that he will have three different variations: Displacer, Storm Lord, and the tentatively titled Thunder God Raiden. Displacer leverages his teleportation ability. Storm Lord allows him to throw out lightning bombs that will create a tether of electricity between them. Finally, Thunder God Raiden focuses on delivering big damage attacks.
You can check out the trailer below, which was recorded directly from the EVO 2014 Twitch stream, so apologies for some of the strange audio.

Our TakeIt's hardly a surprise to see Raiden make a return for Mortal Kombat X, but it's nice to see him confirmed.

One of my favorite Mortal Kombat characters.
Figured Raiden was a standard character. Wonder if this is implying that one or more characters will not return.
was there ever the thought that he wouldn't be in?
Not a huge shocker (kill me), but always fun to play as and his variations look great. Grooving on it.
Good news. I always liked to play as Raiden.
I got extremely hyped because I thought the title was referring to MGS Raiden.
Yay!! I don't care if it was obvious. I'm very happy he's in there.
I'm about as hyped up as I can be for this game. Everything I hear about it just gets me more and more excited!
Sweet, would have just went with one iteration though!
Hopefully my boy Johnny Cage comes back. I saw his daughter is gonna debut as a brand new character.
Nice to know there will be a lot of original characters coming back for this one.
I hope they don't take out players so they can charge us extra for DLC.
