Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishment

Trailer Reveals Younger Holmes And A View Of The Gritty World

It's been a while since the announcement of Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. Just when it seems the title will slip into the shadows,Frogwares has released a new teaser for the summer.

While the last title in the series had a solid score, there is a lot of room for improvement. Crimes and Punishments definitely steps up in the visual department, considering Frogwares has switched over to the use of the Unreal 3 engine.

The developers are also adding in the ever-popular gameplay mechanic of morality choices to season the murder mystery fun.

Crimes and Punishments will be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. As of yet, there is no confirmed release date.

What do you think of Sherlock's new look? Is this a title you'll be picking up? Let us know in the comments.

  • Well if its anything like The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, I'll have to pass. That game got really boring, very quickly.

  • I think it has a lot of promise. Hopefully it will be everything LA Noir was suppose to be.
  • Who has the first game in the series ?? I've been thinking about buying it but not to sure, can someone give me a quick review ?? :)
  • heh, finally a sherlock holmes game that looks playable :P

  • I never got around to playing the last one, but I did enjoy the Jack the Ripper game.  So yeah, I'll probably pick this up at some point as long as I find the time to play Testament before this releases.

  • I actually enjoyed the last one, although I've been a diehard Holmes fan for years, so consider me biased.  I will say the last one dragged on a bit and had more than its fair share of glitchiness.  Still worth the $19 I spent on it.

This one looks like a step in the right direction, although nothing can be said about the mechanics from a trailer.  Still likely it will join my collection.

  • Just started playing SH: The Awakened Remasterd Edition again for the first time in years so this is very good to hear that I'll have a new game to play of my favorite sleuth!

  • Solid trailer. Looks like the days of Sherlock Holmes' crimes of lost kittens is sure gone. Quite the gritty London they've made.

  • I've  always wanted to get into this series but I've been hesitant. Should I go ahead & buy them anybody?

  • Relatively inexpensive games, mind-bending puzzles, good value. I have played both games released for the 360 and got some laughs at their B-grade quality. I will be on board for the next mystery.

  • The "new" look looks an awful lot like the old look....but with more hair. Will I buy it? Probably. I liked Testament and this new one actually looks up to standards. Just wondering what the price is going to be....
  • Looks like something I could play, but...

  • Can they pull this off?
