Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Visit The Future As Envisioned By The Eighties In Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

In a world where April Fools' Day jokes become real, one cyborg is all that stands between humanity and cyber hell. He is Michael Biehn (playing Sgt. Rex Power Colt), and his game is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Ubisoft has finally confirmed the worst kept secret of the week.

Courtesy of the warped (and beautiful) minds of creative director Dean Evans and lead writer Lucien Soluban, Blood Dragon is set in a 1980s flavored reimagining of the year 2007. This standalone title uses familiar mechanics from December's Far Cry 3, except pirates and bandits are replaced by cyborgs. Outposts, which arguably made for the most interesting emergent narrative, are back and joined by a slightly different kind of wildlife. If you thought cassowary were nasty critters, you are in for a rude awakening.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is set to arrive on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC on May 1, 2013.

  • That was one of the best video game trailers that I have ever seen

  • I literally lol'd when they locked hands...my god this looks hilarious.

  • YESYESYESYES! Everything about this looks AWESOME! I can't wait... this is 1985 going on 2013 with the attitude of Duke Nukem. Love it. Love the music tracks on Soundcloud, too.

  • It's two times more official than it was before: I'm buying this pronto.
  • Sweet Mother of Doodle this looks amazing.  Loved Far-Cry 3! This just looks like a total blast!

  • Sweet Mother of Doodle this looks amazing.  Loved Far-Cry 3!  This just looks like a total blast!

  • I'm really confused on why they would do it but it seems to be ok.

  • Alternate realities ftw.

  • This is look'in more and more like a Duke Nukem game all the time. Is this even Far Cry 3 anymore? I do love how they made this look like an 80s commercial, though. Gameplay pretty much looks the same.

  • As much as I love this, I don't really get "80's" from this. I get "super neon colored Lazer Tag" - remember Lazer Tag, btw? Man, that was awesome. But yeah; we can't just go saying "80's" when it's not really 80's-looking. You want to see a proper 80's tribute, go play Double Dragon Neon. This is amazing in so many ways, but it's just some crazy, Joel Schumacher-esque neon nightmare of science fiction. I hope all the DLC episodes for Far Cry 3 are like a separate, mini game. Can the next one PLEASE be about Dinosaurs, Ubi Soft?
  • Vietnam War 2, eh? This game is a work of art.

  • YES!!! This is exactly what i thought was missing from FarCry3. FarCry 1 had killer mutants ... part 3 had no crazy awesome sci fi elements .... now it does ... sort of. Still, bad ass!!! woooo!!!

  • Actually I haven't played other games for long...but I wanna taste Age of Wushu recently. Some says it's featured by Eastern Kongfu, with no class and level. My dish!

  • lmao Vietnam war 2

  • i enjoyed far cry 3 so i really want to play this

  • YES!!!!

Probably one of the funnest trailers I've seen in awhile too.

  • This...i want this.

  • I will probably get this, even though I never played the original Far Cry 3.

  • Like I said before, this one is a safe purchase. Looking great.

  • Cautiously optimistic about this...
