Far Cry 3

New Video Survival Guide Features Plenty Of Action

Ubisoft has released the newest installment of its informative video survival guide for Far Cry 3, this time detailing the dangers awaiting players in the game's island paradise.

The theme of the video is "Psychopaths, Drugs, and Other Dangers," and contains the same corny narration as the previous video. Luckily, the video also shows off a number of different environments, characters, and game systems that should get open-world fans excited.

Highlights include details on Far Cry 3's medicine system, which allows players to make remedies out of vegetation found on the island (though they may result in the pesky side effect of going insane), as well as teases of various hunting, crafting, and gambling diversions that tie into the game's economy. All in all, it sounds like everything we want from a Far Cry game: a big, open-world sandbox full of chaos.

Far Cry 3 releases on December 4. For more information on the game, check out Jeff Cork's impressions from Gamescom.

  • So excited for FarCry 3.  Bummed they pushed it back but glad they are taking the extra time with it.  It really is going to be a blast to play.

  • Looks like a big improvement over the last one, more engaging story, less omnipotent enemies, and hopefully less weapon degrading.

I wasn't really following the game, but having an economy funded by hunting/crafting/gambling/etc. sounds awesome. Also, for an open-world game, it's gorgeous!
  • This looks sweet.

  • Please tell me the enemies won't respawn every five minutes. If i take out an outpost I want to be able to drive back by it in five minutes without it being repopulated.
  • Man, Vas may be one of the most intriguing villains I've seen in awhile.
  • Looking forward to this one. Loved the first two and cant wait to see how Ubisoft improves on the open world FPS gameplay. Nothing like setting up ambushes for convoys in the first two Far Cry games.

  • Although the direction they're taking with the story is interesting, I can't seem to look past how generic everything else looks.
  • game keeps looking better and better. so happy that there is way more wildlife to interact with in this game as opposed to far cry 2. I was always wondering where the hell all the animals were at
  • Alligator wrestling? GAME OF THE YEAR!!!
  • The environments look stunning. I'll probably buy it just to explore the world, truth. It wouldn't be the first time that I bought a game just for that purpose. It wasn't after a few weeks of playing Red Dead Redemption that I actually started doing main story missions.
  • OMFG!

  • Looks great but I hope my hard earned bear/panther meat is worth more than five bucks each.

  • Looks awesome. I would have gotten it, but not anymore since it got delayed, so I'll pass. I'm still going to be playing Halo 4.

  • Wow! There are so many open world games that are coming that it's just crazy. This is definitely One of the top though. I mean just graphics alone look stunning and the wide variety of exotic to hunt or hunt you is really cool. Very similar to red dead redemption but only takes place in modern times and in a jungle.

  • HOLY GEEZ THAT WAS EPIC!!!!!!!

  • Another game that continues to look better and better. This should be a lot of fun to play.

  • Really want this, every video makes me want it more every day.
