The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Behold The Skyrim Map

This is the territory where you'll spend hundreds of hours uncovering Daedric artifacts and slaying dragons.

Thanks to the folks at ElderScrolls.net and Lexmirnov.ru, we now have a glimpse at the land mass filled with dragons, wooly mammoths, and trolls where I'll be spending the majority of my winter. Not a ton of details can be extracted from the map, but it does feature nine cities – the same number of major settlements that were found in Oblivion. For comparison's sake, here is an image of Cyrodiil, the setting of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Though these two maps may not be the same scale, the territories don't appear to be radically different in terms of square footage. I can't wait to explore all the nooks and crannies of this unforgiving, mountainous terrain when Skyrim ships on November 11 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

  • BEHOLD my new home.
  • That is awesome. Skyrim is definitely more mountain-y
  • It seems like a nice place. I think I'll enjoy spending the rest of my life there.
  • Hooray for Pre-Orders, for this shall be sitting beside me almost every step of the way through this game.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Okay, freakout over.

  • My map of Cyrodiil is hanging up on the wall behind me. I wonder where I can get a Vvarvendall map to place in it's proper spot and then place Skyrim above Cyrodiil. Eventually I'll have most of Tamriel hanging up on my wall in seperate maps form.

  • Way more detail on the Skyrim map looks great

  • Someone 1 starred this.... CURSE YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • Eyegasm, to me it looks like Skyrim is quite a bit larger than Cyrodil. Not surprising since its a northern, cold, territory.
  • I paid off my pre-order today!  I am going to explore every inch of that map many, many times over.

  • Maybe this time all that land won't just be filler in between cities.
  • Seems a tad smaller overall when comparing maps like this, but will it actually be set on the same scale? Has there been any announcements on scale as compared to Oblivion? Not that it matters at all to me, like it needs to be bigger for the sake of saying it is, just a question of curiosity.
  • Can't wait for this!

  • Between this and Dark Souls I'm not going to have time to play all the other great games coming out in the next few months!

  • Yep. See that? That's hours of precious life going right down the proverbial drain. And I can't wait!!
  • I ưill play with the HUD turned off. How will I know which way I should go? I look at the sun and the forest trails. Also, there are tons of signboards on the road. Why would I need a stupid HUD? :)
  • This should be fun. Now all I need is my trusty horse to travel with.
  • As much as I want to I just cant get into Skyrim..... Just doenst hold enough appeal to me. However the new changes do seem kinda interesting.
  • O_O
