Mii Plaza's Find Mii StreetPass RPG Making An Appearance In Super Smash Bros.

Today's new Super Smash Bros. image reveals a new stage and possibly a new boss character.

If you've made it all the way through the 3DS's StreetPass RPG, Find Mii, then you will recognize the imposing fellow above as the game's ultimate boss. It's unclear if the green glowing monster will serve as a playable character, or a boss comparable to Master Hand. Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai's commentary on the Miiverse accompanying the image doesn't add much detail. In the post, Sakurai says, "Pic of the day. Pop quiz! Who is this monster, and where is it from? The cage may serve as a hint."

What is clear, however, is that there will be a Find Mii stage in the New Super Smash Bros., as evidenced by the background of the image.

  • ... That's okay and everything, but... was hoping for more interesting stages. Come on Nintendo, you've released Mario 3D Land, Pokemon X and Y, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Fire Emblem Awakening... hell, I'd go for a Metroid Other M themed stage. Surely there's more you could be showing off.
  • As long as the online is great I can care less about stages. I just want to kick everybody here and everyone around the Worlds asses.
  • Well, a find Mii stage is okay, but I REALLY want the Dark Emporer (that's what he was called right) to be a boss.

  • I really want Chrom to replace Ike/Roy this time around. Anyone agree?
  • I can't wait for this game. Even if the stages are lackluster, hopefully, the gameplay makes up for it.

  • So is it just on the 3DS version?
  • Would be a cool boss fight, probably is a stage.

  • A lot of the stages so far look great, but I don't know what to think of this one.
  • As soon as I get my Wii U, It's mine!
  • The angle makes it look like a boss battle, but he doesn't have the dark outline, which I would have expected for this 3DS screenshot. I hope he is a boss, that'll be fun. Now, Nintendo, hurry up with the Bayonetta in Smash reveal. Prove you've got the confidence to back up your support of the game to the most logical possible extent.
  • And the debate over playable Miis just intensified. I don't think the final boss is playable, he doesn't have the outline, but WFT does.

  • Neat.

  • Can't really tell much from that.

  • Can't really tell much from that. Looks like a boss though. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to do some things a little different (experiment, if you will) for the 3DS version, just to see if it takes off, while playing more conservative on the Wii U.

  • GAH!!!!! I jsut want to know which pokemon will fill the roster. We have pikachu, but will Mega mew, mega lucario?! a new fighter?! why are they prolonging the reveal! i figured i'd have seen something when X and Y came out but instead we find out about Marth!

  • If it were a new playable character I think it would have a black outline like the other fighters shown for the 3DS version so far.

  • that's neat.  I wonder if the boss would be a 3DS exclusive.

  • all these small announcements are driving me crazy in anticipation for this game! I guess Nintendo is keeping big reveals on a tight leash though and they're doing a good job of leaving us clamoring for more :P
