Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

Square Enix Unboxes The Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Collector's Edition

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is getting a collector's edition with some extra goodies, and Square Enix has released a video of its unboxing.

The collector's edition was announced at the end of 2013, and you can see the list of extras that will be included below:

  • An 80-page art book with never-before-seen illustrations and early character sketches by character designer Tetsuya Nomura
  • Silver embossed pocket watch
  • DLC code for Aerith Gainsborough's Midgar's Flower Girl outfit

If you hate words and reading them, but have somehow made it to this sentence and are continuing to read, you can check out the video below, hosted by product manager Mat Kishimoto, to see the contents of the collector's edition, instead of reading the list above.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 11. The collector's edition will be available on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $89.99, but the only way to get it will be to order through Square Enix's online store.

  • Looks cool and all but i cant see myself going back to FFXIII yet again. FFXIII 3 part 5 reloaded!

  • The pocket watch would be kinda cool.

  • They ruined Final Fantasy for may due to FF13
  • They ruined Final Fantasy for may due to FF13

  • No soundtrack with the edition? Come on Square....
  • Hated FF XIII, very nearly loved FFXIII-2... We'll see what happens here. Read some less-than-stellar reviews, but I'm hoping I'll at least enjoy the game.

  • Finally, a reasonably priced collectors edition... If only it wasn't FF13.

  • I don't understand "unboxing". Show us what's in it, I don't care about the cardboard it comes in.

  • It looks cool but they should really make stuff like this available at normal places like GameStop. I doubt anyone wants to use the Square Enix online store.

  • I'll just get this pre owned later in the year. I want to play it, but not spending the full 60. That pocketwatch looks cool though.
  • Lightning returns Final Fantasy 13 back to Gamestop.
  • I'm just upset this may be the only way to get the Aerith DLC. I'm not going to spend that much more on a limited edition just for that.
  • Dang, I expected a Chocobo suited Lightning statuette. Bummer.

  • FF XIII was not for me. It just didn't feel like a true FF to me. Nice goodies and all, but I'm sitting this one out, along with anything else that has to do with XIII.

  • I played both Final Fantasy XIII and Xiii-2. I finished neither of them (I got to the last section of XIII but ran into a fight that I couldn't win and I couldn't beat the final boss battle of XIII-2). I'll probably buy this game, and I swear to god that I'm going to beat it. I refuse to let the annoying difficulty spikes of these games to beat me.

  • You know what the sad part is, I am still not buying Lightning Returns.

  • Loved every second of ff13 , 13-2 was ok , will see how 13 lightning returns works out , I'm just hoping the ending will be good I don't want no open ended garbage like 13-2 had

  • I do respect you bro!
