The newly released trailer gives a glimpse into how naval combat will play out in the next installment of Assassin's Creed. Life on the high seas clearly is not for the faint of heart. Or landlubbers.

Does the new trailer leave you wanting more, or are you unconvinced that Black Flag is worth picking up this fall? Let us know in the comments.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 29, 2013. The release dates for Wii U and PC have not been confirmed. The Wii U will not be receiving a limited edition release.

The limited edition will be available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360  for $129.99 on release day and is available for preorder now. The limited edition will also be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at an undisclosed later date.

  • "The Wii U will not be receiving a limited edition release." SERIOUSLY?!?! Why is the WiiU always receiving the ***-end of the stick?!??!
  • i actually loved the naval missions from acIII so i am really looking forward to black flag

  • Can't wait to see the AC franchise get back on course!
  • Lord I can't wait for this on the One. The naval battles were probly one of the best things about AC3 so the fact that the majority of this game takes place on the open seas makes me giddy.

I wish that your pirate crew would sing these kind of songs while you were sailing though. They sound so awesome.

  • I refuse to not get this game based on the series it originates from. Basically from what I've seen and read they've just tacked on an assassin storyline which itself is stupid. Assassins are supposed to be elite, stealthy and cold killers. How the hell is one to stay incognito when he's one of the most infamous pirated out there. I can just imagine a conversation: Guard: Hey, did you just kill that man? Kenway: Do I look like an assassin to you? I may be a pirate but an assassin noooo. Guard: Well then. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  • I came, I saw, I MEH'd.

  • The exact same stuff from the AC III collectors edition subtracting the belt buckle and adding the steelbook

  • Looks like the digital rehash of Pirates of the Caribbean. Let's see, let's see if it works for gamers.

Oh, and beware of one-word reviews. They're usually reserved for less than great products. It's common in films. Same concept applies.

  • I'm really excited for this game, but this game does kinda stray from a real Assassin's Creed game. Edward is going to be a pirate or an assassin, I find it hard for him to do both. I will probably get this limited edition.

  • This will go on the list...but not at the top.  AC3 really placed a bitter taste in my mouth.

  • Pretty cool limited edition, but I don't intend to drop $130 this holiday season for one game alone. I'm looking forward to Black Flag, but with Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs, and Killzone: Shadow Fall releasing within weeks of each other, I'm not going any further than the standard $60.

  • It seems pretty good, but I have to wonder how long Assassin's Creed can drag on the naval theme, even if they do change a few things.

  • I am excited for this game.  I love all the games in the series. I'm interested to see where this franchise winds up going. Pirates, whaling, sea shanties, jungle islands, hostile natives, and some great stealth action, what is there really to complain about??

Limited Edition games like Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock, Last of Us, Infamous or Portal2. Games like Assassin Creed 4 dont have anything of Special Edition because they are released every year, with few changes and a crappy plot.

  • So it's basically the exact same collector's edition as AC 3...

  • This is exactly what I was hoping for after how much I loved the naval missions in AC3! Can't wait to live the pirate life!

I will hold off for the PS4 version though.

  • I really, REALLY hope it brings back the combo killing like in brotherhood. Very excited to see where the plot goes and the naval battles!

  • If the quality of the statue is the same as AC3 then count me in that easily one of the best statues I got for a collectors edition (next to songbird and last of us)

  • If this AC lets me down im done being a day one buyer.

  • Still would rather have the Black Chest edition... you know, the one with all of the Pre-order DLC in it and way better physical items?
