DuckTales: Remastered

Coming To Most Next Month, Xbox Live Release In September

Capcom is set to take its dive in Scrooge's money vault starting next month with digital and retail releases. If you want to play it as soon as its available though, your platform selection won't be entirely open.

On August 13, DuckTales Remastered will arrive on PlayStation Network, Nintendo eShop on Wii U, and PC. Xbox Live Arcade will join the party on September 11.

For those looking for something a bit more tangible, a retail PlayStation 3 release is coming on August 20. It will include a download code and a DuckTales collector pin, and come with a $5 premium price increase over the $14.99 online purchase.

In the first of a series of "duckumentaries," you'll see how developer Wayforward is approaching level design, an updated art style, and capturing the feel of the original DuckTales cartoon.

  • This game was a blast to play at E3. They had demos for Transylvania and the Amazon. Transylvania was really fun and expansive. Trying to find the nephews in the different parts of the map (which is way bigger with the mine cart segments) was a great addition! I didn't get to play much of the Amazon one because for some reason I kept dying and used up all my lives for that level. (A reason might be is that I honestly super suck at platformers. >.

Voice acting was top notch since it was done by the original voice actors. The updated music from midi to modern quality sound is great too. The interpretation of the songs from midi is really fun to listen to.

Definitely a Day-1 purchase. I can't wait to see what they did to the Moon Level which is my other favorite level in the game. The music in that level is timeless.

Also, I wonder if they added a longer ending to the game since the original ending was just Scrooge being happy that he got all this money.
  • Quick question... that DuckTales collectors pin... is that related to the pin collecting that Disney does at the theme parks?

  • So pumped to play this since i saw it at e3

  • Holy crap, the technical artist in the video is named Tim Curry! I would love to work with that guy; I wonder if he's got an Office Space/Michael Bolton sort of thing going on..

Oh, and the game looks awesome, can't wait. But for now I'm gonna go re-watch Clue.
