The lights are on
Silent Hill: Book of Memories was announced back at E3, but Konami didn't really say much more than the name of the game and that it would be on PlayStation Vita.
At the company's GamesCom press conference, it revealed that Book of Memories is a top-down co-op multiplayer shooter. Players create a custom character at the outset and all receive a book full of memories, which they can rewrite through playing the game's levels. It's expected to include weapons and guns from the entire series, including signature monster Pyramid Head (Sorry about earlier. Still adjusting to the time zone).
As announced before, Book of Memories is under development by WayForward and is set to release sometime after Silent Hill Downpour on home consoles.

You mean Pyramidhead right?
Strange. I wonder if this is going to be as good and scary as some of the old titles.
I've seen a screenshot, this is definately more of a side game than a full entry (think along the lines of Arcade and the mobile games)
Whoa whoa whoa slow down... A Top-down Co-op... "Shooter"? Um... You know I think Kenan Thompson from "Kenan & Kel" once said it best. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow i love silent hill ^^
I coulbe be wrong but isn't that what they call Pyramidhead in Japan? Triangle Head. If so, the writer is right.
But, this sounds straight stupid. The best thing about Silent Hill, for me anyways, is the creepy atmosphere... the sense of being alone, or not being alone....not running and gunning co-op resident Evil 5 style...na man....doesnt sound cool
vuagly intersested. but ive been a SH fan since number 1...even the roough patches lately
Based off these screen shots alone I am not impressed. The graphics look shoddy and it isn't a classic silent hill game.
"Silent Hill" and "co-op" are two things that should not be in the same sentence. One of the biggest scare factors in Silent Hill (for me, that is) is that feeling of being thrown into this freaky as hell environment all on your own. Also, it seems that the top down look is going to seriously take away from the creepy lighting and atmosphere that Silent Hill is known for. I hope I am wrong about this, but to me it seems that this handheld version is not going to be able to deliver the scares that the console versions can. The only thing that seems interesting to me is the "book of memories" aspect. I would really like to see how that is going to be implemented.
Top-down, co-op shooter? Well, not a genre I would have thought to use for a Silent Hill game. It's a departure for sure.
That said, it looks like it might be fun. And, let's be honest, the series could use a dose of new-ness and fresh ideas. Who knows? This might end up being really fun/interesting and since it seems to be a side-story, the main canon can still exist.
I'll take this as "Interesting. Waiting to see more before fully judging." Right now though, I'll keep my eye on it.
I don't know. I think I can dig this. Sure there won't be an atmospheric element to it like previous iterations, but it's about putting people in the environment and seeing who survives, I believe. I mean, it's certainly more of an effort than Resi's mercenaries mode - I hate that thing. We'll see what happens.
I'm all for experimentation, but the atmosphere is what made Silent Hill. This looks like the atmosphere was left in the pit of no return.
This looks interesting. Is it worth it though?
What? No, just no. This could just as easily be any other monster/zombie co-op shooter. They just threw the Silent Hill theme in there because of the popularity of the franchise.
WHY KONAMI....WHY DO YOU HAVE TO *** WITH ME LIKE THIS
Silent Hill shouldn't have co-op
