Skylanders: Trap Team

Another Wave Of Skylanders Toys Is On The Way

Good luck keeping tabs on all of the playable character types in Skylanders: Trap Team. Along with the standard assortment of characters, the new playable villains, the larger-sized Trap Masters, and all of the previously released figure types, Toys for Bob today announced that a new Skylanders Minis action figure will also be controllable in Trap Team.

Some of these miniaturized characters may look familiar to you. They were first issued as "Sidekick" pets that would follow your character into battle. They weren't released as retail items, and were only obtainable through promotions, such as Frito-Lay's giveaway. Come this fall, you'll have the chance to purchase them. The first series of Skylanders Minis consists of 16 characters, which will be sold in packs of two for $13.99. These characters function just like their normal-sized counterparts, and have their own upgrade paths and power sets. If you already obtained some of these figures via promotions, you're in luck: The promotional versions are the same as the upcoming retail versions. You can use them as playable characters in Trap Team.

  • As a collector I can say: way to de-value the promotional ones. As a dad who plays them with my kids, I ask, "what took you so long?"
  • Is that mini Spyro cute enough for you PugFaceSpyroHaters? Maybe you can find out that the games are actually fun now instead of crying like you found out Elmo is a child molester.

  • This is great news. It does suck for those that didn't live in the US that bought them prior to this. However, for me after only starting to collect them earlier this year this is fantastic!

  • Bring back old Spyro!
